Talcum is one of the dominant minerals in China. It is known for its rich resources and good quality. According to the statistics of 1992, the reserves of 38 Mining Areas in China are 2.5 million tons, and both the proven reserves and protected reserves are the second largest in the world. Talc deposits in China are widely distributed in 15 provinces and autonomous regions, but they are relatively concentrated in five provinces (districts), such as Liaoning, Shandong, Guangxi, Jiangxi and Qinghai. The sum of reserves accounts for 95% of the total national resources. There are 24 deposits in five provinces (regions). According to the size standards for talc deposit ore reserves of more than 10 million tons of China: for the large, 1000-500 million tons of large, medium-sized 500-100, less than 1 million tons for small. In the five provinces, there are 5 large deposits, 3 large deposits, 9 medium-sized deposits and 7 small deposits.

Talc is mainly used in papermaking, plastics, coatings, paints, ceramics, rubber, waterproof materials, medicine, make-up and other industries, and the application fields are quite complex. In summary, the current domestic market has a large capacity, and different grades of products have different markets. From the lower content of the lower talcum to the high purity of the superior talcum, there are markets from 325 orders of ordinary powder to thousands of fine powder. Generally speaking, the best 325 mesh talcum powder is used for small and medium-sized paper mills. High purity talcum powder is widely used in paints, paints, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, plastics and other industries, and black talc is used in ceramic industry. In recent years, the rapid growth of paper production has led to the consumption of talc in the paper industry. Paper-making is still the largest consumption area of talc, and talc used in paper making accounts for about 50% of the talcum consumption in the domestic market. In recent years, with the development and utilization of calcium carbonate and the popularization of neutral sizing technology in the paper industry, the consumption of talc in the paper industry has declined, but the total quantity is still more than 1 million tons per year. At present, the application and development trend of talcum in paper making industry have attracted much attention from the industry.

In the next few years, the domestic demand for high and middle grade talcum will maintain a fast growth rate. If the development of the talcum industry in the past 30 years is mainly from the export market, the demand for the future domestic market will exceed the pull of the export. In 2010, China's output of paper, coatings, automobiles and household appliances and ceramics reached the top of the world. These markets are the main areas for talc, and the market potential is huge. The Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta are the most important consuming areas. In the future, the main market growth points in plastics, especially PP plastics, are used in automobile industry, household appliances and packaging products, and the annual growth rate will be maintained at 5-10%.
